Pois bem, já lá vai algum tempo desde o último post. Na verdade, já lá vai tanto tempo que me esqueci de grande parte dos detalhes acerca da viagem a Bruxelas. Por outro lado, isso facilita-me a missão de descrever tudo aquilo que estava em falta. E é também uma forma de testar aquilo que permaneceu na minha memória.
Sem mais demoras, apresento-vos aqui as últimas fotografias que selecionei da viagem e um o mínimo daquilo que eu acho que gostariam também de ficar a saber.
Acho que ainda não tinha falado do Parque du Cinquantenaire nem do Musée Royal de l'Armée et de l'Histoire Militaire. Na verdade, fomos até este parque, bem mais afastado do centro da cidade já no último dia e porque já tínhamos visto tudo o resto que ficava na zona mais central de Bruxelas. O Parque é enorme e muito bonito, pelo caminho passamos pelo Parlamento Europeu e quando chegamos vemos pessoas descontraídas a passear em família ou a fazer exercício. É tudo muito calmo, embora se note a presença de alguns turistas.
Do outro lado do grande arco do parque temos dois museus, na verdade não me lembro do segundo, mas optámos pelo do exército porque era aquele que não se pagava. O museu é mesmo muito grande, pode tornar-se até cansativo, mas é bonito, cheio de peças e artefactos de vários países e de várias épocas, Sempre relacionado com a guerra. O ponto alto do museu é um enorme hangar com imensos aparelhos voadores, parece coisa de filme! Vale a pena só por isso!
Não saímos muito à noite. Senti que as pessoas terminavam os seus dias cedo e que, na verdade, não tinham muito o habito de fazer programas noturnos. Temos algumas fotos de noite, mas porque escurecia cedo. Houve apenas uma noite em fizemos um programa diferente e do qual não tenho fotos. Encontrámos a cinemateca, vimos o programa (a melhor vantagem desta cidade é que tem muita informação cultural e turística acessível) e decidimos ver um filme sobre cowboys, a preto e branco e não falado, embora com legendas que descreviam a ação, em inglês. As sessões são pequenas e pensadas nos turistas, embora também haja sessões em francês. Não parece nada muito entusiasmante mas nunca me esquecerei desta experiência, gostei mesmo muito.
Sem fotos também, fomos ao museu Magritte e ao Museu dos Instrumentos, este último retratado no belíssimo edifício da terceira fotografia. Tenho uma queda para a pintura e tudo isso e adorei o do Magritte, aconselho! O dos instrumentos é realmente maçador, mas o edifício é tão bonito por dentro como por fora e o chão da entrada é invulgar e marcante.
Já disse que gostei muito de conhecer Bruxelas, mais do que esperava. É verdade que a cidade não é grande, mas vale a pena conhecer. É o ideal para um fim-de-semana!
- E a minha memória parece não estar assim tão má, hã?!

Oh well, it's been a while since I last posted something up. Actually, It's been so long that I forgot most of the details about Brussels. On the other hand, it makes my task of describing what was missing about the subject so much easier. And somehow it tests what remained in my memory.
With no further delay I present to you the last pictures of the trip and a tiny little bit of what I believe you'ld like to know as well.
I think I still haven't talked about Parque du Cinquantenaire nor the Museé Royal de l'Armée et de l´Histoire Militaire. Actually we went to this park, a little bit more far from the city center, in the last day of our trip because we had already visited and seen everything in the city's downtown, so to speak. The park is quite big, wide open and very pretty indeed. In our way to the park we walked by the European Parliament and when we got there we could see people exercising and so on. Everything's very calm, though you can notice some tourists.
When you pass under de big arch at the end of the park you'll see two museums. I really don't remember the name of the second one but we chose to go to the army one beacause the entry was free. It is incredibly big and with so many rooms. You can eventually get tired but it's full of beautiful artifacts from many countries and ages, always related to war, somehow. The highlight of this museum is an huge hangar with so many kinds of planes, you feel like you are on a movie set. It's all worth it just because of that!!
We didn't go out at night very often. I felt that people ended their days quite soon and there wasn't much movement at night or anything. We have a few photos taken after sunset but only because the days were very short and ended quite early. There was only one night we went out for a different programme of which I have no pictures. We found the cinemateca, checked the programming (one of the best advantages of Brussels is that you will easily find cultural information) and decided to watch a black and white film about cowboys where the characters didn't talk, although there was subtitles (in english) describing the action. The sessions are very small and clearly considerating tourists, but you have french sessions as well if you are interested. Maybe it doesn't sound that exciting but I actually enjoyed it so much, I am sure this was an experience that will always remain in my memory.
Also with no pictures here (maybe I will post some later) we headed to Magritte Museum and to the Museum of Instruments, this last one portraited in the third photo. I love everything that's related to painting and all that stuff so I guess there was just no way I wouldn't love Magritte. I highly recomend it. At the instruments one I had a very dull time. But the building is beautiful and the tiled floor at the entrance is unusual but so very pretty.
I already told you how much I enjoyed to visit Brussels, much more than I expected, actually. The city isn't that big but it's worth a visit someday. It's the ideal destination for a weekend.
- And I guess my memory isn't that bad, hein?!
